Sony koupila studio Bluepoint Games » Vortex

Speculation has been confirmed again. Although in this case we have been waiting a long time from the first hints, through guaranteed unofficial information to the final word from Sony. The PlayStation Studios lineup is being expanded by the Bluepoint Games team, which was bought by the Japanese giant. PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst himself boasted of the news on the PlayStation Blog, saying he was excited to announce the addition to Sony’s longtime partner.

Marriage of convenience

The American team based in Austin, Texas wrapped the player’s finger around thanks to their precise and improved versions of older games. They scored with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered, a significantly upgraded version of Shadow of the Colossus and, above all, a full-fledged remake of Demon’s Souls for PS5. Hulst himself says that the Bluepoint Games made a name for themselves on remasters and remakes of the highest quality.

According to him, they have raised the bar with each of their projects, and PlayStation and its audience will now benefit exclusively from this benefit, although the two companies have already worked closely together. Bluepoint Games developers are also excited about the new volume. Their president, Marco Thrush, said the team, founded in 2006, now has around 70 employees and continues to grow. According to him, a lot has changed in the last 15 years, but they are driven by the same goal.

It doesn’t have to be just an improved version

The team is said to share a similar vision and culture with PlayStation Studios. According to Bluepoint, this platform is full of iconic brands and it is a pleasure to bring them to new players. Being part of the PlayStation encourages them to get over again and create even more interesting experiences. Marco Thrush thanked everyone for their support, adding that they can’t wait to bring players more amazing titles in this new chapter of Bluepoint Games.

It should be added that it does not have to be just an improved version of older classics. It has long been speculated that Bluepoint is working on its own first major original project.

Sony has made a few purchases in recent months. She bought the Housemarque and Firesprite studios. Already in June, the news of the purchase of Bluepoint via the Japanese PlayStation Twitter account apparently leaked prematurely.
