Sonos brings this voice assistant to its smart speakers
Sonos is releasing the Alexa voice assistant via an update on its speakers in the Netherlands and Belgium. Alexa will be an additional choice in addition to the Google Assistant and the proprietary Sonos Voice Control system.

Alexa on Sonos speakers
Those who use a Sonos speaker get a new way to operate their speakers hands-free. Amazon Alexa will work on Sonos speakers after an update, although the voice assistant does not yet speak Dutch. The function has previously worked on Sonos speakers in other countries, but now the Netherlands and Belgium are also added to the list of supported countries.
You can ask Alexa to play specific songs on a speaker of your choice, adjust the volume, pause the music and skip songs, among other things. In addition, you can of course also ask questions that have nothing to do with music control, such as about the weather forecast.

At the moment, people can already get started with the Google Assistant and Sonos is also working on its own service. Sonos Voice Control, as it is called, can be used like Alexa in English. Voice Control is a handy alternative for those who prefer not to share personal data via voice with large tech companies such as Amazon or Google.
