Snapdragon vs Tensor: Qualcomm tackles Google and its Pixel 6 chip
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be the first Google smartphones not to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. They will be entitled to Tensor, a house chip. Qualcomm has reacted to this subject with a tweet.
Qualcomm’s tackle to Google for the choice of chips
Qualcomm tweeted βWe decided to build our own smartphone system-on-chip instead of using Snapdragonβ, accompanied by red flag emojis. This is a meme used by some on the social network. With this meme, internet users add emojis to hypothetical statements from partners, friends, employers or others, which might signal a “red flag”, echoing the phrase of the same name. to describe the warning signs in all areas.

Although Qualcomm doesn’t directly name Google, the group is clearly targeting the search giant. There’s no question about that because the Pixel 6s with the Tensor chip are getting ready to hit the market. Google is organizing a conference on October 19 to reveal everything: features, price and release date.
It should be remembered that Google is not the only company to use an in-house chip in its phones. Samsung and Huawei are doing the same. Apple also with its iPhones. This allows for better optimizations and better control. For example, the Pixel 6 will have five years of security updates, compared to three for existing Pixels with a Snapdragon chip.
