Snapchat introduces its own chatbot
If you use Snapchat regularly, you’ve probably noticed: Snapchat recently got its own chatbot. After the update, the AI will be among the rest of your conversations on Snapchat and offers the possibility to have a conversation at any time of the day. The chatbot pretends to be a real person and replies to just about any message you send.

As a user, you can send photos and videos to the chatbot, but you will only receive written answers from the AI. Snapchat is trying to respond to the rise of other services that work with artificial intelligence, such as the popular ChatGPT. You can ask the chatbot on Snapchat almost anything, but the answers from the AI are sometimes incomplete or incorrect.
My AI is at the top of the list on Snapchat
It is still unclear what exactly the chatbot is intended for on Snapchat. According to the service itself, My AI is designed as a “personal sidekick for every Snapchatter who chats with it.” The more you talk to the chatbot, the better it gets to know you and the more it knows about you. The answers are stored according to Snapchat until you choose to delete them again.
Snapchat has given the chatbot a prominent place, namely at the very top of your list of chats. Very annoying, especially if you don’t use My AI on Snapchat at all. Do you want to remove the chatbot from your list? Then we have bad news, because that is only possible if you decide to pay for Snapchat Plus.
You can only remove a chatbot with Snapchat Plus
A few months ago, Snapchat introduced a paid version for your iPhone. For Snapchat Plus you pay 3.99 euros per month or 34.99 euros per year. With that subscription you will receive a number of benefits. For example, you can change the backgrounds of your chats, see how many friends have rewatched your story, and rearrange the order of your chat list on Snapchat.

So a new benefit of Snapchat Plus is the removal of the chatbot. With a subscription you can completely remove My AI from your list or at least place it less prominently in your list. Don’t have a subscription? Then unfortunately you cannot remove or move the chatbot on Snapchat. It is not yet clear whether this will be possible in the future without a subscription.
