Smart e-bikes with new Bosch eBike Systems
A brand that has had a large share of the e-bike market for years is Bosch, although you may not notice it right away.
Almost all batteries used in e-bikes come from this German technology company. To maintain that large market share, Bosch continues to tinker with the batteries and now even comes up with a number of other components with which you can go smart e-bike riding.
‘Smarter’ e-biking
You switch on your lamps by asking Google, on your return home you switch on the heating via an app or you look via a camera who is at your door. Smart devices will be hard to imagine without in 2022 and Bosch is now also taking that step for your e-bike. With a number of new accessories and the eBike Flow app, the battery manufacturer is taking a new step in “smart e-bikes”.
In that app you control all functions of the e-bike. In addition to controlling all functions of the smart system, you can also adjust the motor, battery and controls. This way you can adjust the e-bike completely to your wishes and increase the riding pleasure.
New accessories
In addition to the Flow app, you also have a number of accessories that you can place on your e-bike to adjust the bike even better or to gain more insight. First, there is the LED Remote, a control center that connects you to the said application. With this control panel you can find all important information and change settings.
In addition, a new on-board computer has also been released. The Bosch Kiox 300 gives you insight into your fitness data so that you can also use the e-bike for sports. This data is supported with clear animations and graphics and you get a wonderful gadget with it!
New battery and motor
Bosch has also announced a new battery of no less than 750 Wh. The Powertube 750 has the same dimensions as the other Bosch Powertubes and so you can replace your old battery with this new option. For comparison; a popular e-bike like the Gazelle Ultimate C8 Plus has a 500 Wh battery. With that battery you can cycle between 60 and 120 kilometers on that bike before you have to recharge it.
The Bosch Performance Line CX is the line of motors that Bosch has developed for e-bikes. With 85 Nm you get a powerful acceleration and you can set the engine to a special driving mode. This makes the motor suitable for electric mountain bikes, but also if you want to make a tour on a regular e-bike.
Charging the bike on the go
Finally, Bosch has also released the A4 charger. A power bank for your bike that you can take with you to recharge on the go. If you drink a cup of coffee at a cafe, your bike will be charged again. A good battery such as the Powertube 750 is already half charged in 2 hours.
This way you can increase the range of your bike and you can continue cycling with support after charging. Very useful for electric bicycles such as the Batavus Fonk E-Go N7, which is limited to 70 kilometers with a range, but can suddenly be a suitable and economical choice with an A4 charger.
