Do you want a large tablet from Apple? Then you have to be at the iPad Pro 2022. This is Apple’s latest tablet with the fastest chip (the M2). The new iPad Pro is available in 12.9-inch and 11-inch versions.

The new iPad Pro will be available in stores from October 26, starting at €1,069. The first reviews are now available online.

1. MacStories

Federico Viticci van MacStories think the iPad Pro 2022 is a neat update, but do say that it is mainly a small update of the hardware. He was also very pleased with the new feature ‘Apple Pencil Hover’.

Apple had mainly promoted the feature to artists, but the MacStories reviewer found that other apps also benefit from the new feature. For example, you can preview a YouTube video by holding your Pencil right over a video.

2. Engadget

At Engadget, the speed and smooth response of the iPad Pro 2022 is a plus. But the reviewer also found the previous iPad Pro very quickly. For someone who has an older iPad Pro without an M1 chip and who uses a lot of heavy apps, the iPad Pro 2022 is worth the upgrade.

According to Engadget, the iPad Pro 2022 is also not marketed for people who already have an iPad with M1, but more to show how fast Apple’s best tablet is. The new Hover function of the Apple Pencil also attracted (positive) attention at Engadget, but the reviewer has yet to see how developers will implement the function in other apps.

3. Mashable

At Mashable, they were a lot less positive about the iPad Pro 2022. Especially Stage Manger regularly had problems, because some apps did not look good when you had resized the window.

The new Pro is an incredibly powerful tablet, but it’s still no substitute for a good laptop. They also find the Pro tablet too expensive and you get more for your money if you buy an iPad Air.
