Slovenská pošta plans to purchase new electric cars

Slovenská pošta has been providing us with its services throughout Slovakia for many years. The planned surprise will be the purchase of approximately 500 electric cars, which will bring a faster and better way of delivering a variety of goods. The Živé.aktuality.sk portal published an interview with the director of Slovenská pošta in its article.

Will electric cars replace older cars with internal combustion engines?

The director of the post office confirmed the planned tender announcement for 500 electric cars, which could move the company to the forefront in the use of electric cars. One of the initial projects to prepare services using electric cars is the repair of the parking lot in Svidník. The branch will also provide citizens with one charger for the public.

Another planned project is the construction of chargers in places where it will be necessary. That is why the director also relied on car mileage calculations to find out in which cities and regions these new cars could be used efficiently.

The announced change is also the gradual reduction and replacement of older diesel cars with electric cars. After the test with electric scooters, the director also announced the expected purchase of electric scooters. This alternative comes precisely because of the different built-up areas and the distribution of several means of transport for mail is the goal of all ongoing analyzes and calculations.

What changes will the cooperation of Slovenská pošta with online stores bring?

The cooperation of Slovenská pošta with the popular companies AliExpress and Wish is already in the final phase of the solution. The Živé.aktuality.sk portal stated in an interview that some shipments from AliExpress come straight taxed thanks to cooperation with post offices in the surrounding countries. The new conditions with the payment of customs duties have caused complications for many countries.

An alternative to adapting to new changes is to create cooperation between the online store and the country to which the shipments arrive. Cooperation makes taxation of shipments much easier.

Contracts with consignment suppliers allow the e-shop to pay fees directly with the help of branches. The start of cooperation is planned from about mid-November. To shorten the time when processing the contract, Slovenská pošta joins the Czech cooperation with e-shops.

The conveniences of the Slovak Post application make it possible to handle the customs eCustoms procedure using a mobile phone. This procedure is carried out only if the post office sends the client a message for the consignment with a request to supplement personal data. However, if the service provider has all the necessary information, the customs procedure will take place without the client’s help, or “automatically.”

The head of the post also commented on the closure of branches throughout Slovakia and published information on the closure of 92 branches this year. These changes are scheduled to be implemented by branch networks by December this year.

However, this year’s dilution will not end the phasing out of inefficient branches. Proposals for next year again threaten to disrupt operations as the director tries to adapt to market developments and the current needs of his customers.
