iPhone 13 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro
Do you still have an iPhone 13 Pro and are you unsure whether you should switch to the iPhone 15 Pro this year? Then read on quickly. We tell you what the biggest upgrades for your next iPhone will be if you come from the iPhone 13 Pro.
1.Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island is a new feature that first appeared on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This new variant of the notch (the black notch at the top of the screen on older iPhones) looks nice and can even change shape.
The iPhone 13 Pro still has a standard notch. The Dynamic Island is therefore one of the upgrades you will receive when you choose to transfer.
2. 48 MP camera
You will also get a considerable upgrade with the camera. On the back of the iPhone 15 Pro is the 48-megapixel main camera. The iPhone 13 Pro still has to make do with 12 megapixels. A rule of thumb here is: the more megapixels a sensor has, the more details the photo contains.
The new camera is a real improvement, especially for night photos. You see more details and less distortion. Note: these photos are a lot larger and therefore take up more storage space.
3. Always-on screen
Another new feature is the always-on screen. This allows your iPhone to show the time (and background) of your lock screen when you’re not using or locking the iPhone. This feature was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) and is therefore missing with the iPhone 13 Pro.
4. New chip
A new iPhone also comes with a new chip. The iPhone 13 Pro has an A14 chip. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to get the A17 Bionic processor. This new unannounced chip must work more efficiently, faster and more powerfully than its predecessor. The A17 Bionic chip is said to be a 3nm chip, while current processors are still 5nm chips.
The A17 chip in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the first chip to be made in this way. The A17 Bionic chip will therefore be considerably faster and more powerful than its predecessor. In addition, 3nm chips are more energy efficient than 5nm chips, so the battery lasts longer.
More changes with the iPhone 15 Pro
In addition to the above new functions, there are of course more adjustments that Apple has made. Every version of the iPhone 15 now also gets USB-C. The lightning connection will therefore disappear forever. Handy if you already have a USB-C cable with you. Because you then have to carry one less cable in your bag.
In addition, something will change at the ring signal switch. This is the switch on the side of your iPhone that turns off all sound. With the iPhone 15 Pro, this will become a button, to which you can also attach your own functions.

Upgrade or not?
Do you already have an iPhone 13 Pro and do you really like the above functions? Then you can consider switching. You get a decent price for your iPhone 13 Pro if you sell it before the release of the iPhone 15.
However, we would recommend waiting a while before selling your old device. Especially if you only find one or two of the improvements interesting. Major changes seem to be absent again this year or to be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
iPhone 15 release
Apple usually releases new iPhones in September. That is the case again this year. You can expect the iPhone 15 in the second or third week of September. Usually you can pre-order it on Friday and it will be in stores a week later.
