Shooting Pokémons in a game, it’s possible!
But not allowed. Nintendo doesn’t like that you can shoot Pokémons and is tracking down the maker of this game. Check out the images here.
Pokémons, some of us love it. And some hate it intensely. A fun game has been made for the latter group. For the past month, Reddit user Dragon_GameDev2 has been working on a small side project, in which he proposes a Pokémon game built with Unreal Engine that you play in first-person on a PC.

The maker had even more brutal ideas for his game, but first he showed what he had already made. You can see players in a Pokémon-filled landscape, modern firearms and released to hunt in some of his videos. Yes, Pokemons. Although it is shocking for sensitive players to empty an entire magazine of your rifle at those sweet little Pokémons, the videos got a lot of views. Maybe the blood effects will help with this.
Nintendo ‘not amused’
Unlike many other large international companies, Nintendo seems absolutely unwilling to distinguish between commercial projects that infringe their copyrights. Or fan-made games that are free and made for fun. The latter seems to be the case here.
The videos were posted on YouTube and Reddit. Nintendo isn’t really enamored with the project and is responding as we expect. They have had most of the videos removed. Even tweets highlighting the clips have had the images removed. One of the few places where you can still see the game in action – at least where Dragon_GameDev2 itself uploaded it – is on Reddit. It remains to be seen how long these will remain online, given the influence of Nintendo.
