Sex scene in Harry Potter? This excerpt was not shown in the cinema

While the Harry Potter films grew darker and more mature as the saga progressed, there was never any sex – although a hint was planned at least once. A scene from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that was cut from the film provides the proof.

Even if the Harry Potter parts became a bit darker, especially in the later parts, on the whole the series is still aimed primarily at one target group: children. No wonder, then, that while some of the characters kiss and flirt with each other, However, sex was never discussed.

But originally there was supposed to be a scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that at least suggested that the teenagers at Hogwarts were quite intimate with each other. However, this is missing in the finished film – she was cut. However, it can still be found on YouTube and in some of the special editions of the Harry Potter saga:

The scene referred to shows Harry briefly retiring to one of Hogwarts’ courtyards on the evening of the grand ball. There he not only meets a kissing couple, he also passes a carriage in which two students are apparently having fun. This is indicated by a strong wobbling and squeaking of the carriage and a fogged window pane.

When Harry notices this, he reflexively stops, seems to want to take a quick look inside the carriage, only to suddenly take to his heels.

What else is happening in the scene?

In the further course of the short excerpt, Harry overhears a conversation between Professor Snape and Igor Karkaroffapparently exchanging views on the return of Lord Voldemort.

During the rather awkward chat, Snape continues to diligently go about his work as a teacher and caught one of the couples red-handed in one of the carriages. Both students are each deducted 10 points – whether this cost their house the house cup at the end of the school year is not resolved in the film.
