Scoop: Listening to music even better on your PlayStation 5
Listening to music while gaming on the PlayStation 5 is now accessible to just about everyone thanks to Apple.
Sometimes you play games for the compelling stories, extreme competitiveness or for hard-hitting action. But sometimes you just want to start up your PlayStation, have a drink and some music and then play. Sony has come up with something for that, because in addition to Spotify, you can now also listen to music via Apple Music while you game on your PlayStation 5. And that is the first time.
Apple Music makes music on PlayStation 5
Gamers can now install Apple Music on their PlayStation 5. Then you can enjoy all 90 million songs, playlists and podcasts available through the application, Sony said. Of course, the content continues to play when you start a game. In fact, many games allow you to turn off the in-game music so you can listen loudly to K3 while pwned n00bs in CoD.
The PlayStation 5 is the first console that will allow users to receive Apple Music content. As mentioned, Spotify is already present on the PS5. In fact, apart from the Nintendo Switch, you can receive Spotify on all consoles (last and current gen). So it’s not so much a first for PlayStation 5, but more for Apple Music.
It is not yet clear whether the service will eventually come to other consoles. It would be very strange if only the PlayStation 5 user could listen to music via Apple Music. You would in any case still expect the PS4 in that list. Although no information is known about this for the time being, Apple and Sony are clearly becoming close friends.
