ChatGPT: Elon Musk assembles AI team
Tesla and Twitter boss Elon Musk is said to be on one new research laboratory for artificial intelligence work. He has reportedly already reached an agreement on this with Igor Babushkin, who previously worked at Google’s AI project DeepMind. Together they apparently want to put together a new team to create an alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Babushkin has corresponding Talks with Musk confirmed, but did not want to confirm his new employer directly. According to him, the project is still at a very early stage and no concrete products are planned (source: the information).
Other insiders like Jon Victor and Jessica E. Lessin go a step further and claim that the ChatGPT’s success the reason for Musk have been to record the talks. Musk himself founded OpenAI with investor Sam Altman in 2015. Three years later, however, he left the company’s board of directors. ChatGPT called Musk “scary good.”
Elon Musk already has a lot to do without an AI project:

Musk had recently criticized OpenAI and other AI projects more and more. Specifically on OpenAI, he noted that the open source company is now too dependent on Microsoft. That would not have been his intention when founding OpenAI.
Generally he holds current AI developments for dangerous. He also accuses the manufacturers of training AI as a “woke”. According to him, this was “deadly” (source: Elon Musk on Twitter). Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, recently warned of dangerous AI models.
