No, the end of a similar service does not mean that. The Android Auto application will be replaced by integration in Google Assistant. It will use Google Maps for navigation by default. In the upcoming Android 12, the so-called “Driving Mode” is to be added, which will offer similar conveniences as the current app. Complete getting rid of many popular services behind the wheel should not be a nuisance.

Even phones that have an older version of Android will be able to use the new feature through the old Android Auto application, which will bring them to the new Google Assistant environment. This information is not very clear at the moment and we will have to wait for some time for official reports.

There is still the option of installing Android Auto from external sources, but if Google happens to stop supporting it, either on the side of their servers or otherwise, you will have to rely on the upcoming innovation, built directly into the smart assistant for Android smartphones.

On the other hand, it is possible that its installation will still be allowed and, as we have already mentioned, it will be used to connect to a new service in Google Assistant. Owners of devices with Android 12 will already have this convenience built directly into the system and will replace a separate application.

Some users report that Android Auto is no longer in the Play Store or that they are prevented from installing this service. As soon as we learn more about the new “Driving Mode”, which will probably be announced along with Android 12, we will update the article.
