Samsung will try to compete with Apple chips with a new generation of processors

According to good sources at Business Korea, Samsung would have started the development of a new generation of “Galaxy” processor (CPU) capable of competing with Apple’s Ax and Apple Silicon chips by 2027. The South Korean giant has thus formed a new team responsible for working on these chips, and notably hired Rahul Tuli, who led the development of some AMD processors.

Samsung is also accelerating the pace on its mobile ARM chips (Exynos): at the end of 2022, the System LSI division of Samsung Electronics launched the AP Solution Development Team, a team that collaborates with the Mobile Experience division (MX ) in order to optimize the architecture of the next Exynos chips. The objective is to develop significantly more efficient and optimized chips, knowing precisely that the Exynos is currently lagging behind in terms of performance compared to Snapdragon and of course to Apple’s Ax. The first processor resulting from this big internal boost would be the Galaxy Chip (generic name which will no doubt change), a SoC which should be officially unveiled in 2025.
