Samsung will let 30 million fewer devices roll off the production line this year

Samsung plans to manufacture tens of millions less devices this year than was planned. The reason lies in several causes. It concerns both affordable devices and smartphones from the high-end segment.

Fewer Samsung devices

This year, 30 million fewer smartphones will roll off the production line than was planned at Samsung. The information on this comes from a usually well-informed source from South Korea. The reason for this has three causes; the war in Ukraine, the rising inflation with the consequent changing spending of consumers and the still large shortage of components. Samsung is cutting production in all price ranges of its smartphones; so for both affordable and expensive smartphones.

Initially, Samsung planned to produce 310 million smartphones by 2022. For all of the above reasons, this has now been revised to 280 million units. In the first quarter of this year, Samsung is estimated to have sold 73.7 million smartphones.
