Samsung releases an update to Android 12 and One UI 4.0 for last year’s flagship models

The South Korean manufacturer Samsung continues to upgrade its devices to One UI 4.0, which I built on Android 12. A stable version of the new system was only recently received by this year’s flagships from the Galaxy S21 series, along with the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 folding models. Now it’s their predecessors’ turn.

Android 12 according to the Sammobile portal has already been given to owners of smartphones from the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series, including the popular Galaxy S20 FE model. Next is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 with firmware version F916BXXS2FULE, which also includes December security patches.

A new version of the system for all the mentioned models is gradually starting to appear in some European countries. According to the information of our readers, it is already in Slovakia. You can check for an update in the system settings under Software Update.

However, the manufacturer does not end this, and in January, based on the current schedule, Android 12 will also receive the first middle-class smartphones and older flagships.

What changes does One UI 4.0 bring?

The One UI 4.0 extension is based on Android 12, which, among other things, brings a sophisticated user interface design, new and nicer widgets and the ability to customize the colors of the system based on the wallpaper. Although Samsung’s design language is different from what Google has, it has incorporated this news into its system.

Then, with the new switches in the quick settings, you will be able to easily interrupt access to the camera or microphone throughout the system.

OnePlus 9 and Nokia X20 were also updated on Android 12 this month. Motorola, meanwhile, has released a list of devices that will receive the latest Android, and Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is preparing to release the MIUI 13 extension.
