Samsung Phones Not Just Snapdragon: New AMD Deal Signed
Samsung has signed a new agreement with AMD to provide graphics capabilities on the Exynos processors. Although Samsung temporarily said goodbye to Exynos in its S23 line and released all devices with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, that has not been said in the future. We had already expected that given the rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Fan Edition, but now a new deal has been made with AMD.
AMD and Samsung
Since 2019, the two companies have been working together to provide AMD Radeon power on the Exynos processors. Now it has been decided to continue that partnership and continue to bring AMD’s Radeon graphics silicone to the chipsets. In doing so, the companies are citing plans to deliver multiple generations of high-performance, ultra-low energy AMD Radion graphics on an extensive portfolio of Samsung’s Exynos chips.
In short, it seems that this is not about one chip and the hope is that Radion will also come to the less luxurious Exynos processors. After all, that affects the graphic performance of devices and would mean that budget devices are better prepared in terms of visual power.

Exynos chips
It must come to the budget or midrange devices, because a new agreement that Samsung has with Qualcomm states that the Korean phone manufacturer may only use Snapdragon chips in the high-end Galaxy phones (ie the S series anyway). Snapdragon chips often come out better in the test, but Exynos chips have more advantages in terms of durability.
Plus, the Exynos 2200 is better at ray-tracing technology than Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the best and latest Qualcomm chip. It is therefore very wise that Samsung continues to work with AMD on that graphic performance, because ray tracing is currently a very popular technique to, for example, make objects in games appear even more realistic in terms of lighting.
