Samsung One UI Watch 4.5 unveiled, new dials and keyboard features

Samsung has announced a new One UI version for smartwatches. This new version should improve the overall experience and accessibility. There will be new customization options, watch faces and a new keyboard interface.

At the beginning of this month, the well-known rumor spreader Even Blass with information about One UI Watch 4.5. He came with image and more information about the new One UI version for smartwatches. Among other things, we saw new watch faces with improved options and functions such as the integration of sports and body data. This data should now be easier to see at a glance. You also get the option to save your favorite watch faces and change the available colors and combinations in them. These saved watch faces will also be placed in a special favorite list. This should ensure that you do not always have to scroll through an entire collection of watch faces and that you should be able to find your favorite watch faces quickly.

On the renders we also saw a new keyboard interface and improvements for the use of two SIM cards. On the former we see, among other things, a dictation function and handwriting recognition.

New customization options

These renders are now confirmed as Samsung has revealed details about One UI Watch 4.5. In addition, Samsung said that the update should be rolled out soon, SamMobile reports. Samsung further states that One UI 4.5 Watch is designed in such a way that the accessibility and user experience in general should be greatly improved. This gives you the option to adjust the contrast and hue of the screen, and you get the option to turn off animations and effects. In One UI Watch 4.5 you should also be able to adjust the volume, duration and touch input of notifications and apps, among other things.

In addition, there will be a new keyboard interface with new functions. This will give you the option ‘Swype to Type’. With this you can, in addition to typing on the keyboard of the smartwatch, soon also swipe typing. You then swipe over the letters to form words. This option should make it a lot easier to type words on the tiny keyboard.

Availability

One UI 4.5 Watch will be rolled out soon for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and for the Samsung Galaxy 4 Classic. The Galaxy Watch 3 series gets not access to the new update. This is because the Galaxy Watch 3 series is built on the Tizen platform and does not run on Google’s Wear OS. One UI 4.5 is built on the latter platform. It may be the case that some functions of One UI 4.5 Watch come to the Galaxy Watch 3 series. Samsung indicates that this series will also receive new functions and updates.
