Samsung One UI 5.1 update brings battery issues and bugs
Samsung has released a new update, but it does not work in everyone’s favor. Samsung One UI 5.1 causes the battery life of the device to deteriorate in some smartphones. In others, all bugs follow. This mainly concerns older Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung OneUI 5.1
You may want to wait a while before downloading the Samsung One UI 5.1 update. There are many problems that arise with the new update, although it is of course mainly the problem-experienced public that is vocal about it and the people who are not bothered. But still: there are indeed problems with the new release from Samsung.
One UI 5.1 made its debut on the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series that appeared at the beginning of this month, but is now also available on other devices. And that’s where it goes wrong. Galaxy S22, but also Galaxy Z Fold 4, have some problems with that update. Although there are nice new features with the update, including reduced battery life and bugs for some. Samsung’s Android 13-based shell would also cause problems with various functionalities.

Problems with the update
On various forums such as Reddit and Samsung Community you can read that there are still many complaints. The reason why the battery problems arise is particularly special: this would be due to the brand’s keyboard app. However, that does not apply to everyone with the problem. There are also people whose device name has suddenly changed to a crazy long code consisting of numbers and letters. In addition, there are reports that the Bixby Routines no longer work and that Color Palette (and kind of Material You) no longer work properly.
In short, if you haven’t downloaded this update yet, it may be worth delaying it for a few more weeks until Samsung fixes the bugs.
Do you already have the update and is it bothering you? We hope not, but we are curious in what form you experience problems. Leave it now in the comments.
