Samsung has finally succeeded: new cell phone changes everything

Samsung always manages to implement new ideas for smartphones, while other manufacturers are still copying the latest innovations. The South Korean company has now shown how folding cell phones should look in the future. Samsung solves several problems at the same time.

Samsung is currently installing a display in its folding cell phones that can only be opened. This creates a clear fold that can be seen and felt. It has been suspected for some time that Samsung will soon be switching to a new display with a different hinge, which doesn’t bend the screen but only curves it strongly like a drop of water. The advantage would be that so there would be no more folds in the display. But Samsung has shown another advantage. The display could be bent in both directions.

You could decide for yourself whether you the display folds up or bends to the backto then use the device as a normal smartphone:

Huawei had opted for a display that folds outwards for its folding cell phones. However, the screen is always unprotected during transport. With Samsung, the display could simply be folded up and would continue to be protected.

Now, of course, the question arises as to whether the 360-degree hinge will already be used in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5. This has not yet been confirmed by Samsung. In the past, the company has often shown new display technologies that were not directly converted into products. In that case, however, it would be a big win, since many of the disadvantages of the current models would be eliminated. In the end, however, only Samsung knows how robust the new screen is. Either way, Samsung is showing what folding cell phones of the future should look like.
