Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Galaxy S23

A lot is already known about the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series. On Wednesday, for example, the Galaxy S23 and S23+ specifications first appeared, a few hours later we were able to inform you extensively about the specs and prices of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It immediately became clear that Samsung will also supply the devices in Europe with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Good news, because on paper (and often also in practice) Qualcomm’s processors are faster and above all more energy efficient than Samsung’s own Exynos chipsets.

Now there is more information about the processor used. Samsung will use a modified version of this chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that we will see in the Galaxy S23, S23 + and the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be called ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy’ in full. The chip delivers a clock speed of 3.36 GHz, the primary X3 core runs at 3.2 GHz. It is expected that the properties will be similar to those of the other devices with this processor. However, several optimizations will have been made, specifically for the Galaxy devices. The messages do not go into detail about this, so what exactly has been improved is not known.

On February 1, we will hear all the details about Samsung’s new smartphones. Then the new edition of Galaxy Unpacked, with all the information.
