Samsung Galaxy S21 series receives Android 13 in the Netherlands

Android 13 rolls out for the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra. In addition to the new Android version, the phones also receive the latest security update.

What is OneUI 5?

Samsung’s One UI 5.0 software shell is based on Android 13. According to Samsung, this software shell is designed so that you have more options to personalize your Galaxy phones. Among other things, One UI 5 has a new look and feel for a smoother user experience. From clear and simple icons to a streamlined color scheme. Furthermore, the notifications in One UI 5 have been made more intuitive, making them readable at a glance. The buttons for answering and rejecting calls are more visible in a new pop-up call screen.

​In addition to the appearance of One UI 5, the possibilities for personalization are also an important part of the new software shell. The Good Lock app Video Wallpaper is now available directly on the lock screen. With just a few taps, you can crop a video to set it on your lock screen. You can also personalize the lock screen by customizing the wallpaper, clock style, and notification popups all from one screen.

The update will be rolled out over-the-air to the Galaxy S21 series and once it’s in, you’ll see a notification in the notification bar. You can also manually search for the update: Settings -> Software Update -> Download and Install. In addition to One UI 5, the phones also receive the October security update.
