Samsung Galaxy Fold owners get their own Android
A ‘second’ version of Android 12 called Android 12.1 should offer results for owners of a Samsung Galaxy Fold or other folding phone.
Android 12 is almost here and there is already plenty of speculation about what will be available at launch. A bit strange then that there is already talk about an early release of Android 12.1, as if 12 is already in need of improvement.
Android 12.1
However, it is different. Android 12.1, officially still a code name, is a version that should live parallel to Android 12. That will be a special version for owners of a Samsung Galaxy Fold and/or other foldable smartphone.
Foldable smartphone
Because not only the Galaxy Fold is better supported with a separate Android, a foldable Pixel could also appear on the scene. It is therefore expected that the release of both operating system and phone will happen together. In any case, the foldable phone from Google is immediately ready, although other devices will also be able to enjoy it.
Features
XDA was already allowed to work with an early version of Android 12.1 to look at some things. The special features of the Android version for foldable phones seem to be mainly related to better split-screen functions on the big screen. Especially separating the interface over the two halves of the screen should be better.
It is therefore unknown when Android 12.1 will roll out. Stay tuned for the news!
