Netflix has released its first VR game and announced another next month -apkrig

Netflix has taken further steps in the field of video games. And now we don’t mean new serial and film adaptations of popular digital worlds, but several purely gaming activities, which indicate that the streaming giant is becoming more and more interested in this area. The action thriller Kate premiered on Netflix this month. He will have his own game next month. The title Kate: Collateral Damage from Ludic Studios will be released on October 22, and of course we will take on the main heroine of the film, with which we will go to Tokyo, pixelated.

This is an isometric action roguelike in which you run out of time quickly because Kate has been poisoned and poison kills her over time. If you are close to retro shooters like the Miami Hotline, you could come to your senses here. Ludic Studios is a Brazilian team that has a similar retro event “coincidentally” set up in Tokyo named Akane. It was released in 2018 and 96 percent of players on Steam rate it positively. That already sounds like a good promise.

Netflix has also “secretly” released its first VR game. Eden Unearthed is the title for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 and is based on the Eden series, which can also be found on Netflix. Animated sci-fi without much fanfare has received a free game in which you will travel through its world. A representative of the streaming service later specified that the silently published title was the work of the marketing department and was to promote the series.

And more games are on the horizon. Last week, Netflix acquired the rights to the catalog of works by the writer Roald Dahl, who is known in our country mainly thanks to the book Karlík and the Chocolate Factory and its adaptations. According to the stories of the famous author, he is going to create a number of series, films, but also games, the company’s representatives boasted in the official announcement. Of course, we don’t know yet what exactly Netflix’s plans are.

Netflix has been flirting with games for some time, but has long been content with only small titles, such as Stranger Things accompanying the series hit of the same name. But then news began to appear more and more often that the company could also start offering games as part of a subscription and possibly creating its own. These speculations were recently confirmed, and at the end of August, Netflix included its first game subscription offer. So far, however, it is testing the service only in Poland and offers only two mobile titles for Android.
