Samsung Galaxy A51 receives One UI 5.1
Androidworld reader Jesse owns the Samsung Galaxy A50 and informs us that the One UI 5.1 update has arrived on his phone. With this One UI 5.1 update, you get a package of new features that were introduced on the new Galaxy S23 series.
The update has firmware version A515FXXU6HWC7 and it also contains the February security update. The update is over 1.2 GB in size, so downloading via a WiFi connection is recommended.
What is OneUI 5?
Samsung’s One UI 5 software shell is based on Android 13. This software shell, according to Samsung, is designed to give you more options to personalize your Galaxy phones. Below we list all the improvements that are in One UI 5.1.
Camera and gallery
- Color filters for selfies: accessible via the camera app’s new ‘Effects’ button.
- Expert Raw: special camera features RAW photography, found in the More tab of the camera app -> Read more about it here.
Multitasking
- Minimize app windows or make them full screen: works with a new gesture, by dragging the windows in a corner.
- Split screen: your phone now recommends your most used apps in split screen.
Weather
- New interface: New layout of the weather app that shows important info first.
- Rain chart with expected rainfall per hour.
SamsungInternet
- Continue browsing on another Galaxy device with the page where you left off.
- Improved search function: recognizes the names of tab groups and does not suffer from misspellings as a search term.
