Samsung could integrate a foldable screen into a laptop

Samsung may soon be using its foldable screen technology in a laptop computer. At least that’s what a famous leaker suggests. If no proof comes to support its declarations, the arrival of this type of product enters completely into the current logic of the manufacturer.

Foldable screens have long been a fantasy, but today they have become a reality. However, they are reserved for the ultra high-end smartphone market, but Samsung may well diversify its offer. with computers using this technology.

The Ice Universe leaker, known for being very active and often aiming right, shared a logo of a still unknown product: the Galaxy Book Fold 17. The Galaxy Book are Samsung’s ultra-portable computers (some of which are marketed in France) and run on Windows 10. The term Fold, already used by the brand for one of its phones, speaks for itself. It would be a laptop with a foldable screen, then.

The Galaxy Book Fold has already been shown by Samsung

Ice Universe gives no evidence to support the existence of this product. However, Samsung already mentioned the idea a few months ago in an official video (at the end of the article). This video, from May 2021, was shared by Samsung Display to show the different uses that its foldable OLED screens could allow. We see a whole bunch of products including a 17-inch laptop. Nothing says that it is exactly the same terminal that the manufacturer provides for us, but the use has already been designed around this format.

The use of flexible screens on PCs is also a logical next step for Samsung. The manufacturer should indeed not be satisfied with phones in this segment. We can also in the future imagine tablets or connected watches using this technology. In any case, if Galaxy Book Fold 17 there is, we should to hear much more about it in the days and weeks to come. When a product begins to leak on the Internet, the information then multiplies until it is announced. As of this writing, Samsung has no plans for a conference.
