Samsung comes with repair kits for smartphones and laptops

Is the hardware of your Samsung smartphone or laptop broken? You can get started yourself with the repair kits of the popular brand. As a customer you can order various spare parts and repair kits to repair your device independently. In addition, you can watch online videos and manuals that tell you how to do it.

Right to repair laws

The European Commission recently adopted a proposal for the right to repair, also known as the right to repair. These regulations make it easier for consumers to cost-effectively repair their devices, so that they do not have to be replaced immediately. Consumers thus have the right to claim repair of products in accordance with EU law. Manufacturers are obliged to inform consumers about repair options. In addition, there will be a platform for online repair, to bring consumers and repairers into contact with each other.

This is not only more beneficial for consumers. The law also ensures that manufacturers develop more sustainable products. Indirectly this will – hopefully – reduce unnecessary waste, because a device can last longer. In short, such regulations contribute to encouraging repair, rather than the purchase of new products.

Repair loose parts

Repair kits are currently available for the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 smartphones. In addition, it is possible to obtain spare parts for the Galaxy Book Pro and the Book Pro 360. Parts such as a glass back, new USB-C charging port, new batteries and an amoled screen are all new for the aforementioned smartphones. There are already a lot more parts available for the Galaxy Book Pro and the Pro 360. Order a new battery, housing, fingerprint scanner, touchpad, LCD, and silicone feet.

If you want to repair your device yourself, you can find manuals and videos on the product pages of the brand itself. This makes things a lot easier for consumers. The necessary resources to repair your device are also included in the repair kit.

You can also order all parts separately from a repair kit. Of course you pay a different price for this than when you order a kid. For the kit you pay an extra € 22.39 for laptops. These contain a suction cup, a special PH000 screwdriver, a plastic pick and a suction cup. This makes it super easy to safely detach and reassemble your screen.

If you want to repair your smartphone, you will lose an amount of € 28.44. This kit actually contains exactly the same tools, but with extra heating which softens the glue of the screen.

Samsung device repair

The fact that Samsung comes with repair kits coincides with the new European right to repair legislation. The program set up for this is now available in various countries within the EU. Countries such as Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, etc. make the right to repair program available. The brand therefore plans to offer more repair kits for various other products.
