Sales in Europe: Apple iPhones grew in 2021, Samsung fell

Strategy Analytics publish smartphone sales data in Europe during 2021 and Apple was able to improve on 2020 with its iPhones. It’s the opposite for Samsung, the manufacturer has declined.

Apple advances, Samsung retreats

Samsung remained the leading smartphone seller in Europe in 2021 with a market share of 29%. That’s down 1% from 2020. Apple is second with a 23% market share, up 11%. Xiaomi is not very far in third place with a market share of 20%, with a rise of 33%.

Oppo is fourth with an increase of 77%, which allows it to have a market share of 5%. Next is Realme in fifth place with an impressive 548% year-over-year increase. The Chinese manufacturer has a market share of 3%. Finally, there are the other brands which together obtain a market share of 20%, an increase of 18% compared to 2020.

It is interesting to see that everyone has managed to progress except Samsung. But the Korean manufacturer maintains its first place. As for Apple, we can suspect that the iPhone 13 has helped to increase sales and market share.

2022 could also be a positive year for Apple. The new iPhone SE, which would be announced on March 8 during a keynote, should help, as will the iPhone 14s expected for the second half.
