Safari with ProMotion on MacBook Pro 2021: Now Available in Preview

It’s a bit strange. The new 2021 MacBook Pro has ProMotion, but the bundled apps (such as Safari) in the recently released macOS Monterey do not support the super-smooth 120 Hz mode.
That will now change, because the browser has received support for ProMotion in the preview version of Safari. This makes websites scroll very smoothly and browsing feels faster. So do you have such a new MacBook Pro? Then we have good news for you, because you can try the new version of Safari right now.
Download Safari Technology Preview with ProMotion
To download the new version of Safari, visit the Safari downloads page and scroll down. Tap ‘Safari Technology Preview for macOS Monterey’ and download the software. Then start the installation in the usual way. The installation takes approximately 336 MB.
The current version of Safari will not be replaced by the way. So you can safely download and install the Technology Preview of Safari, because both apps remain available. Please note that the Safari Preview is only available in English.
The new MacBook Pros are lightning fast thanks to the new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. But there is still spectacular improvement and that is the screen. The screen is equipped with mini LED technology: thousands of small LEDs provide XDR lighting.
But just as important: the screen also has ProMotion. This ensures that the screen refreshes twice as fast as before: up to 120 Hz. You notice this especially with animations on the screen and scrolling. Everything that moves on the screen looks smoother. This makes the Mac feel even faster.
