Apple is offering a first beta for Safari 15.1, both for macOS Big Sur and for macOS Catalina. Also, this version is included in the eighth beta of macOS Monterey.
First beta for Safari 15.1 on Mac
The Safari 15.1 beta release notes don’t say much, with Apple repeating a lot of features that are already available with Safari 15. But according to MacRumors, the new version corrects the bug that causes the browser to crash when users bookmark a YouTube page. We hope in any case that this update will bring other things, because it is a version x.1 and not xx1. It would be very surprising if Apple only fixes this bug and does nothing else.
To download the Safari 15.1 beta, go to on the Apple Dev Center in the More Downloads section. It is good to note that you must log in with your Apple account for the download. However, it is not necessary to have a developer account. Note also that you must have the latest version of macOS Catalina or macOS Big Sur to be able to install the beta.
Apple does not yet say when the final version of Safari 15.1 will be available for download to all users. But it will likely be in a few weeks.
