Read on after the ad.

Need a new iPhone battery?

Whether your iPhone needs a new battery or not, you can best see that in the Settings of your iPhone. There, go to ‘Battery’ and choose ‘Battery health and charging’. If the ‘Maximum capacity’ there is lower than 80%, it is (according to Apple) time to look at a new battery.

Apple has adjusted the service options for the iPhone in the Netherlands in recent years. Almost all repair providers are allowed to use official parts and tools. As a result, prices are almost the same everywhere now. At Apple itself, replacing the battery costs 79 to 119 euros. As a rule of thumb: if your iPhone has Touch ID, you pay 79 euros, for models with Face ID you pay 99 euros. Only the iPhone 14 models are more expensive, here you pay 119 euros for a new battery. We have listed all prices in the table below.

This is how battery replacement works

If you live in a city with an Apple Store or a recognized Apple service provider, the fastest way is to make an appointment and bring your iPhone there. Our experience is that you can pick up your phone the next day or at the latest the day after. Sometimes it even works on the same day. Alternatively, you can send your device to Apple, but then you have to add the delivery time.

Apple requires that the device is backed up beforehand, either in iCloud or on the computer, as the manufacturer takes no responsibility for data loss. It is best to make a backup the day before your appointment.

By the way: if problems other than the empty battery are found, there is a good chance that these also need to be resolved. Additional costs may be charged for this.
