Renders show camera hole on upcoming Fairphone 5

Fairphone is getting to work: it recently released a very good pair of headphones in the form of the Fairbuds XL (it remains a confusing name) and now we seem to be preparing for a new smartphone from the brand. The first renders of the Fairphone 5 have appeared online and show a punch hole arrangement in the screen for the selfie camera. With this, the Dutch brand would say goodbye to the drop notch.

Although at first glance not much seems to have changed, that is not entirely true. The micro SD slot and the place where you put the SIM card have both moved up. In addition, the screen edges are also considerably narrower if we compare them with those of the Fairphone 4. It is good to know that the renders do not come from Fairphone itself: these are rumors via Android Authority.

The camera flash also looks a bit different: normally it was always an oval-shaped part, but now it’s round. Although you can also replace all kinds of parts on this Fairphone, it is not the case that you can use an ‘old’ flash from an earlier Fairphone if you need to replace it. Furthermore, we still know few details about the device, so which processor it contains and so on, that is not known.

In addition, the renders make it clear which colors we can expect: black, light blue and transparent. The size of the screen is one of the more desirable details to know about the phone, but we still owe you that answer. Or rather Fairphone, which will hopefully come up with official information soon.

We liked the predecessor Fairphone 4, namely Fair Draaid: “The Fairphone 4 could well be the first Fairphone that could bridge the compromise between a sustainable and honest phone compared to slightly less high-end specs. After all, the Fairphone 4 is the first Fairphone that is not years behind in terms of design and specifications and offers a pleasant user experience.”

Could Fairphone 5 top that? How? What do you think? Leave it in the comments.
