‘Renderers of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 are on the street, you need to know this’

Samsung is not sitting still with its Galaxy Buds series. At the beginning of this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung’s first take to the throne in the true wireless segment. However, the South Korean manufacturer does not leave it with one pair of ears in 1 year – the Buds 2 are now on the way, which was confirmed on Saturday evening with renders of the Buds ears.

After Samsung introduced the original Galaxy Buds in early 2019 as a successor to the former Icon Xs, the Galaxy Buds Plus appeared in early 2020. With the Galaxy Buds+, Samsung introduced slightly improved earphones, including with a longer battery life and stronger microphone. It was also noticeable that the design of the ears, with the exception of some available colors, remained virtually unchanged. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds 2 break through this pattern and offer a design very similar to the Buds Pro, which launched in early 2021.

On renders from 91Mobiles, we see earphones in four colors, namely: black, purple, white and green. Both the earphones and the inside of the charging cases are adapted to the different colors of the Galaxy Buds 2. It is also noticeable that Samsung – just like on the Buds Pro – has said goodbye to the visible touch surface for operating the earphones. The entire back of the Galaxy Buds ears may work as a touch surface.

New Buds Charging Case

On the inside of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, we see a flatter design than on the Buds Pro, which appears to be finished in glossy plastic, as opposed to the matte material on the Galaxy Buds Pro. On the back of the ears we also see two pogo pins and sensors to recognize whether the ears are in your ears. So you can be sure that the Galaxy Buds 2 can automatically stop playing music when you take them out of your ears, and start again when you put the earbuds in your ears.

As indicated, the ears contain pogo pins. On the Galaxy Buds 2, the pins are used to charge the earphones via the included charging case. Renders point out that Samsung is introducing the regular Buds series for the first time in its new charging case, which it previously introduced with the Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Buds Pro. Charging of this case is via the USB-C port on the back.

Prices Galaxy Buds 2

Details about the battery life of the earphones, as well as the price, extra functionalities and the colors that Samsung will release in the Netherlands and Belgium, are still missing. Given that the earphones have recently visited the FCC, an imminent launch seems to be within the realm of possibility. You may be able to purchase the earbuds as early as August – Samsung is expected to launch the earbuds along with its Z Flip and Z Fold phones, which are reportedly to be announced in late July or early August.
