Receive vaccination appointment nearby with the vaccine of your choice
The vaccination sequence for the corona vaccines AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson were officially revoked in Germany some time ago. But how do you get an appointment if you want to be vaccinated? Doctors’ offices are flooded with calls and inquiries, and vaccines are not available everywhere. A start-up wants to provide the solution to the problem. You can easily get an appointment at sofort-impfen.de – if the doctors join in.
Update from 05/30/2021: Three weeks ago I registered with Sofort-impfen.de and have not yet received an appointment. The team only announced in an email that they were 1.7 million people registered within 14 days to have. It is not known whether appointments were arranged at all. However, the team has been enlarged and a mediation function is to be integrated. At least in our city of 80,000 people, the doctors don’t seem to know anything about the platform. So I keep trying my luck at the family doctor. Hopefully it wasn’t just the personal data that was tapped.

Vaccinate immediately: Website arranges vaccination appointments nearby
Anyone who has not yet been able to get vaccinated, but would like to do so because the vaccination sequence for certain vaccines has now been canceled, can now register for an appointment online. The website sofort-impfen.de wants to bring doctors together with vaccines that are not vaccinated because people do not show up or cancel, and really want to get vaccinated. On the website you can enter your e-mail address and zip code and have vaccination appointments suggested in the area. The radius is currently limited to 5 km, but the developers are working on an option with which the radius can be extended manually.
If you sign up on the website, you get If you are lucky, you will at some point receive an email with a vaccination offer nearby if the doctors in your area list it. Sofort-impfen.de plays the mediator. All suggestions are non-binding. The email will tell you when the vaccination should take place and the vaccine that will be vaccinated. So theoretically you can choose the vaccine if you don’t accept the first possible appointment. If the vaccination is carried out, the doctor will give you the appointment for the second vaccination, if this is necessary. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine does not have this, all other vaccines require a second vaccination.
Still important at the moment:
There is enormous interest in vaccinations
Already on the first weekend they got loud Business Insider Over 200,000 people registered for one vaccination with immediate vaccination – and the trend is rising. The more well-known the website becomes, the more doctors will find out about it and write down the doses that are left over. The idea came from the team that runs this project on a non-profit basis and is dependent on donations, as there is no central contact point in Germany for people who want to be vaccinated. The large number of visitors shows that this is needed. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will be vaccinated. Still, it’s worth a try if you’re in an age group that would otherwise have to wait months.
