Realme GT 2 (Pro) official: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, record camera and attractive price
The Realme GT smartphone became very popular last year. It offered high performance and very decent equipment at an attractive price. His successor plans to continue the established trend. There are two news. A model without the Pro attribute was added to the more equipped Realme GT 2 Pro. The information was provided by the Android Authority portal.
Several manufacturers are presenting their innovations at the ongoing CES conference, which is traditionally held at the beginning of the year. Today we have seen, for example, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE smartphone and other models are yet to come. News from Realme again offer interesting equipment at a good price.
Realme GT 2 Pro
The manufacturer’s most premium model comes with several interesting features. It currently boasts the most powerful processor that can be found in an Android smartphone – Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is made by a 4 nm process.
The 120 Hz LTPO OLED display received a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a high resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels, making it one of the absolute top in terms of parameters. The novelty is powered by a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which can be charged with a power of up to 65 W.
The novelty is also interesting from the point of view of photo equipment. The main sensor is the Sony IMX766 with optical image stabilization and a resolution of 50 megapixels. The ultra-wide angle lens is literally ultra, as it has an angle of view of up to 150 degrees, which is significantly more than the competition. Fisheye mode is also present, so action camera style shots are also available.
Another interesting sensor is a macro lens, which we might rather call a microscope. It works similarly to a microscope lens in OPPO Find X3 Pro. With such a sensor, you will take really microscopic images. Also, with the exception of the mentioned OPPO model, which you will not get from any other smartphone on the market. The resolution of this camera is not known, it is expected to have approximately 2 or 3 megapixels.
The absence of any approaching camera freezes a bit, the smartphone will only have to rely on digital zooming from the main sensor. The selfie sensor got a resolution of 32 megapixels. The Realme GT 2 Pro also offers stereo speakers and has sophisticated antennas for even better signal reception and Wi-Fi. Of course, there is NFC or Android 12 operating system with Realme UI 3.0 extension.

This model offers fewer improvements over its predecessor. It is gratifying to increase the battery capacity from 4500 to 5000 mAh, which should ensure better endurance on a single charge. The older 64 MP sensor of the main camera has been replaced by “only” 50 MP, but with a higher quality and larger sensor. In addition, there is an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a virtually useless two-megapixel depth sensor.

The performance is taken care of by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It will please 65 W of cable charging, and there is also a 120 Hz OLED display with FullHD + resolution. Like the more equipped model, this one also runs on the Android 12 operating system with the Realme UI 3.0 extension.
Realme GT 2 (Pro): Price and availability
The news will initially be available only in our home China, but we hope that it will also reach our market. After all, last year’s models came to us. The price of the Realme GT 2 is approximately 374 euros after conversion, while the more expensive Realme GT 2 Pro costs approximately 540 euros. Prices are converted from Chinese yuan and apply to China. If smartphones reach our market as well, prices are likely to be higher.
Competition
There aren’t many competing models with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We expect that the manufacturers will first present flagships, whose prices will be double compared to the news from Realme. The current competition with a good price / performance ratio can be smartphones from POCO, or an interesting choice, although less powerful, is the Motorola edge 20, whose price has dropped very pleasantly in the recent period.
