Xiaomi confidently describes the new Redmi 10 as a “reinvention of the entry-level smartphone”. In fact, the Xiaomi smartphone has a lot to offer and has a price-performance ratio that is second to none. The competition has to be on their guard.

Critics may ridicule Xiaomi’s smartphone strategy with “quantity instead of quality”. There may be a bit of truth in it – but in addition to excellent flagships that can be measured against the best of the best from Apple, Samsung and Co., Xiaomi can above all point to its success. And the new Redmi 10 should give Xiaomi another boost.

To the Price from 179.90 euros the Redmi 10 offers a lot of equipment for the money. The technical data reads impressive:

  • 6.5 inch display (FHD +, 90 Hz)
  • Eight-core processor with 2.0 GHz (MediaTek Helio G88)
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB storage
  • Quad camera: 50 MP main camera + 8 MP ultra wide angle + 2 MP macro lens + 2 MP depth sensor
  • 5,000 mAh battery (with 18 watt quick charge function, a 22.5 watt charger is included)
  • Android 11 with MIUI 12.5
  • Two speakers

This equipment is a real announcement to the competition. Comparable smartphones are usually 50 to 100 euros more expensive. Especially the one XXL battery with quick charge function and the 90 Hz display are remarkable. On request, a variant with twice as much memory (128 GB memory) is also available, which costs 199.90 euros.

Xiaomi Redmi 10 will appear in several colors in early October

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 should according to the manufacturer to be released on October 1, 2021. The colors available are matt carbon gray, pebble white and a “structured, shiny” sea blue. This is where the only point of criticism could be made, because a little more color variation would have looked good on the Xiaomi Redmi 10. The smartphone should be available through the usual sales channels of Xiaomi (see in the Xiaomi shop) and also through cell phone providers.
