PS5 stock to improve in second half according to Sony
It will take until the second half of 2021 to really see an improvement for the PS5 stock according to Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is a similar speech to that of Microsoft for its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Better for PS5 stock in the second half of 2021
The demand for the PS5 “Was more important than what we had expected”, Jim Ryan told Washington post. “This point, added to the complexity of the supply chain issues, resulted in a slightly lower supply than we had initially expected”, he added. But he assures that the production knows a “Constant increase”.
The stock for the PS5 will be much better in the second half of 2021, he told the Financial Times. He actually explains that the situation will improve over the months. But there will obviously be a real change in the second half of the year.
Are we to understand that everyone will be able to buy a PS5 without any problem in the second half of 2021? Jim Ryan doesn’t say it. He is only saying that the situation will improve at this time of the year. It is not impossible that buying a PS5 for Christmas 2021 may be, as for 2020, a complicated task according to dealers. “There are very few magic wands that you can wave”, acknowledges the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The leader took the opportunity to say that one in four PS5 buyers did not have a PS4. He also indicates that half of the owners of a PS5 are new to the PSN (to play online).
