Rumor: iPhone 13 will not be more expensive than iPhone 12
The iPhone 13 is still a few months away, but a new report from TrendForce sheds more light on what to expect this fall. According to the report, Apple’s priority is to optimize existing features. Retail prices of the new iPhones are expected to remain roughly the same as last year’s iPhone 12 models.
The new iPhone is likely to be released again in four different models: the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. TrendForce however, calls the new iPhone the “iPhone 12s” in the report, not the iPhone 13.
We can only say for sure in September what the long-awaited Apple phone will be called. Most other rumors talk about the iPhone 13, so we’ll keep that name naam iPhoned for the time being.
Production of new iPhone goes up
In addition to the sales price, TrendForce also discusses the production numbers of the iPhone 13. Apple is expected to increase this to 223 million units. Apple is doing this because of the upcoming easing of corona-related lockdowns in Europe and the United States. Because of this, more people will probably buy a new iPhone.
Apple also benefits from the fact that Huawei has given up part of the market share for high-end smartphones. This is likely to significantly boost new iPhone sales in 2021 and 2022, especially in markets such as China.
More about the iPhone 13
September still takes a few months, but the rumor mill around the new iPhones is running at full speed. It is rumored that the Pro models of the iPhone 13 will have a ProMotion screen. Such a screen is not only energy efficient, but also has a high 120Hz refresh rate. This makes the screen look much smoother.
Furthermore, the best iPhone of 2021 might get an improved ultra-wide-angle lens and a fingerprint scanner under the screen and the iPhone 13 Pro will be available in no less than 5 different colors.
