The current MacBook Pro with a 13-inch display and M1 chip could be the last of its kind: Apple probably wants to say goodbye to the popular model and no longer publish a direct successor. The MacBook Pro 13 is scheduled to be replaced in the second half of 2022.

Leaker: Apple is not planning a new MacBook Pro 13

According to a trustworthy leaker, Apple will not release a new variant with the same display size after the current MacBook Pro 13. The MacBook Pro with a 13-inch display and M1 chip, which was released at the end of 2020, will be replaced by another, slightly larger version. The MacBook Pro 13 should become the MacBook Pro 14. A performance can be expected in the second half of 2022 (source: @dylandkt on Twitter).

In a direct comparison, there should be other changes in addition to the display diagonal. The M1 chip from Apple is used in the MacBook Pro 13, while the M2 is to be used in the 14-inch model. But that’s not a big surprise. According to the leak, customers are allowed to sign up be prepared for a “slightly increased price”.. However, it is not yet known in detail how high the price increase will be.
