The Volvo subsidiary Polestar is following other car manufacturers and is promising an e-bike. The electric bike is to be built together with the Swedish company Allebike. According to Polestar boss Thomas Ingenlath, it is more than a marketing stunt.

More and more car manufacturers are coming up with the idea, as well as e-cars to throw one or the other e-bike on the market. For example, there are two electric mountain bikes available from Porsche, and BMW and Rivian are also working on more or less their own models. The American manufacturers Jeep and Hummer don’t want to be left out either.

Polestar is working on its own e-bike

Now the Volvo subsidiary Polestar should jump on the bandwagon, as CEO Thomas Ingenlath confirmed in an interview. Many details are still unclear, but at least it is certain that of e-car manufacturers to cooperate with Allebike want. Unlike the competition, however, it should not simply amount to licensing the Polestar brand. According to Ingenlath, he doesn’t think much of such marketing stunts (source: The Verge).

Polestar had already worked together with the Swedish company Allebike in the past. The result stands in the form of the two non-electric bicycles of the Allebike Alpha Polestar Edition ready. You can get them for the equivalent of around 9,000 euros. It is not yet known how high the price of Polestar’s first e-bike will be. Even apart from that, the CEO has not commented on the design or specifications of the e-bike.

So far, Polestar is known for electric cars:

Polestar not only makes e-cars, but now also an e-moped. Here the Volvo subsidiary has teamed up with the Swedish manufacturer Cake to create its own Polestar edition of the Makka electric moped to publish. It can be charged via the Polestar 2 e-car and a special trailer hitch is also available for transport.
