Playstation 5 Pro controller is coming!?

Sony may come with a Pro controller for the PlayStation 5. Persistent rumors point to a quick arrival of this new controller.

The PlayStation 5 came out 1.5 years ago and then it is usually time for a Lite variant or a heavier version. Only the console is still barely available after 1.5 years. So Sony now seems to be opting for new controllers.

It should be easier to get the console later this year. That is why the brand will first focus on selling the “normal” Playstation 5. What is of course always possible is to release extra accessories for the people who were lucky enough to score the game computer. Two weeks ago they announced virtual reality glasses, with accompanying games, and now there will probably be a Pro-Controller.

Playstation 5 Pro Controller

Tom Henderson is the man claiming the arrival of the Playstation 5 Pro controller. Tom is throwing the rumor into the world based on sources that say that Sony is working on a real professional controller for the Playstation 5. It should be presented sometime in the coming weeks, but it has already leaked.

Henderson even says he has already seen photos, but does not publish them. That is not allowed from his source. What he can report are interesting specs. The controller retains the classic PlayStation 5 look, but gets all kinds of new possibilities.

Interchangeable sticks

For example, the analog sticks, or pokers, can be exchanged in their entirety. This is handy, because they tend to wear out over time. The main reason may well be stick drift. Unfortunately a not rare problem where your gameplay is ruined by a character that can only walk to the right or left, for example.

Tom also talks about paddles on the back. We know these as accessories for, for example, the Playstation 4 controllers, but would simply come standard on the Playstation 5 Pro controller. He also talks about trigger stops. Those two would speed up the gameplay considerably.

In the same article, Tom expresses the expectation that Sony will come with more new hardware at the end of this month, but not with a new console. In addition, he expects a software update for the PlayStation 5 controllers, which also benefits the “regular” controller.
