Pixel 6 network problem fix coming in January

In January, Google will roll out an update that should put an end to network problems that users experience. Those problems have been occurring for some since the December 2021 security update. Google has therefore paused the rollout of that update.

Google Pixel 6 fix on the way

Google has revealed more about the issues that some of the Pixel 6 users have been experiencing for several weeks. Since the delayed December security patch, the phone has lost signal for some people, which means that messages and calls do not always come in properly.

Google now says that the rollout of the December update will be on hold until a fix is finally made during January. That update should end the network issues and it also rolls out the improvements that were originally part of the December update. Google does not yet share when the specific update is expected.

What can you do now?

Although Google has pressed the pause button, there are a lot of Pixel 6 phones where the December update is already installed automatically. Those experiencing problems can do nothing but bring their phone back to the November patch. This is easiest via the Android Flash Tool, but your phone will be reset to factory settings anyway. So make sure your data is backed up.
