Philips sends other 4K TVs with Android TV to the Czech market

Philips TV has launched two new models of its Mini LED TVs, the PML9506 and PML9636 series, on the Czech market. Each with two diagonals of 65 and 75 inches. The basis of all models is an LCD screen with resolution 4K with Mini LED backlight and have a P5 image processor, a four-sided Ambilight and the latter model also a sound system from Bowers & Wilkins. The sound solution offers speakers in a 3.2.1 configuration with a power of 70W aimed at the viewer and radiating upwards for reflection from the ceiling.

Mini LED technology

The new type of backlight works with significantly smaller diodes. The screen is divided into 1024 zones, each of which can control the contrast independently of the other zones. There are then individual LEDs in each zone – there are 8 in the 65-inch screens, and 12 in each of the 75-inch screens. In the 65-inch variant, there are a total of 8192 LEDs, the 75-inch variant offers a total of 12,288 LEDs. As a result, the entire system can respond to the real image much more smoothly and accurately.

New TVs also boast, for example 10-bit color processing (guarantees at least 95% of all possible shades), excellent maximum brightness (1500 nits for PML9506 and 2000 nits for PML9636), HDR10 / HDR10 +, HLG and Dolby Vision standards and last but not least Android TV 10. Players will appreciate the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) or FreeSync features as well as the HDMI 2.1 standard with high bit rates. The cheapest variant of the mentioned Philips TVs comes out on CZK 46,790. Other prices have not been announced yet.
