Philips OLED807: New Smart TV officially introduced

TP Vision announces the introduction of the new Philips OLED807 smart TV. It features not only a new panel named OLED-EX, but also an improved P5 image processor with elements of artificial intelligence.

The new OLED-EX display panel provides up to 30 percent higher light output compared to a standard OLED screen. The sixth-generation AI P5 processor makes TV a “smarter” companion. The Ambient Intelligence function in the P5 processor has also been improved. This consists of monitoring the current ambient light in the room.

In real time, the user will witness the adaptation of brightness or color so that the contrast for SDR or HDR content is always fully optimized. Features such as Eye Care, Dark Detail Optimization or Color Temperature Optimization will also be pleasing.

The number of smart picture modes increases from two to seven. This mode switches, for example, when artificial intelligence detects that a movie is playing. The novelty continues to offer a wide range of formats, such as Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10, HDR10 + and the new IMAX Enhanced.

Philips OLED807 has universal use. It will also suit gamers

The Philips OLED807 design is extremely slim and fits in perhaps every living room. The frames around the screen are almost invisible. The outer frame is made of premium metal materials. The remote control itself, which has an elegant silver, metallized surface, also looks premium. Its buttons have a backlight, so there will be no problem with operation even in the evening.

The TV will also suit game players. HDMI 2.1 provides fast and reliable connectivity. Here you will find support for e-Arc, VRR for 4K from 40 Hz to 120 Hz at full bandwidth of 48 Gb / s, FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC and Auto Game or Auto-Low-Latency modes.

Philips TV’s unique anti-burn technology uses advanced logo detection. It monitors the grid of zones for accurate recognition of static content and gradually reduces the intensity of its local light output. This is a great convenience that will extend the longevity of this product.

Integration of Android TV and strong speakers

The Telka boasts a high-quality 2.1 sound output with an output of up to 70 W. The set consists of three ring bass speakers facing backwards and another four drivers. Switching between the speakers in the room will be very easy thanks to its own DTS Play-Fi wireless technology.

Android TV version 11 has become the operating system. It offers an elegant and intuitive interface. Of course, the popular Google Assistant, which works on the remote control via push to talk, must not be missed either. Fans of smart assistant Alex will also get their money’s worth.

Competition for the Philips OLED807

The competition for the Philips OLED807 may be its older MiniLED sibling Philips 65PML9506, which we even tested. It features a wet image, great features and a similar price for the 65-inch model.

We would close the competition section with the Sony Bravia OLED XR-65A83J TV. However, this Android TV does not have a nice ambient backlight, but still offers a nice OLED picture, great connectivity or increased refresh rate. However, Philips TVs offer better value for money.
