Philips Hue can now also handle Samsung televisions; that is how it works
Philips Hue has been expanded with a handy addition. From now on, the colors shown on a Samsung television can be taken over by the smart lamps from Philips. This previously worked with TVs from Philips itself.
Philips Hue can handle Samsung TV
Philips Hue is the name of Philips smart lighting. The possibilities are endless. This way you can choose many different styles to give the living room (or other room) a certain atmosphere. In addition, the platform can handle televisions with Ambilight, such as the Philips 55OLED807, which we have previously extensively tested on DroidApp. If you own a Samsung television, then there is good news to report. Philips has added the option to synchronize the Hue lamps with your Samsung television.
With Philips Hue Sync you can synchronize the lamps with the colors that can be seen on the television. These adapt in real time. It does not matter which content is viewed. Whether this is a Netflix movie or a program on a television channel, everything is included in Philips smart lighting. To get this fully working, you need to use the Philips Hue Sync TV app. This replaces the Hue Play synchronization box that worked via HDMI. Because the app replaces the device, you do have to pay for the application. The cost of this is 129.99 euros. The application is offered via the app store on your Samsung television. For an extra dimension, you can, for example, purchase the Philips Hue light strip and attach it behind the television.
It is not known whether other brands will be added for Philips Hue support in the future. The support for Samsung televisions works on Samsung televisions released in the Q60 series (or higher, soon also the Q700 series) and from model year 2022 or newer.
New lamps
Philips has also announced three new products. For example, a new outdoor lamp will be available from the end of January, and a new Hue Tap dial will be released in mid-March, which is equipped with a round mount. The previously announced Philips Hue Go table lamp will be released at the end of February.
