Pedometer++: popular pedometer is now even better

Do you like to track your daily steps on your iPhone? Then you should give Pedometer++ a try. The app has been around for almost 10 years, but is still popular in all those years. Pedometer++ tracks your daily steps or workouts and helps you complete them using small rewards such as special badges.

Of course, you can also use Apple’s built-in Health app on your iPhone for this. But it contains so much data that it is sometimes difficult to view an overview. Also, the graphs are very small and some data is quite hidden. Pedometer++ tries to make that easier.

When you have been using Pedometer++ for some time, the first thing you notice is the new interface. The bars and overviews look a bit more modern and sleek. In addition, the app supports larger fonts and a Workout tab has been added.

In addition, the app now has live activities and knows how to use the Dynamic Island. This update is also great for owners of an Apple Watch Ultra, because the app now also has support for the special action button on this smartwatch.

Set up app

When you use the app for the first time, you must give Pedometer++ access to your movement and fitness data. The app needs this data to display your daily movement. You do this by tapping ‘Continue > OK’ after starting the app.

Then you indicate your daily step goal. By default, this goal is set to 10,000 steps, but you can easily adjust that.

If you have an Apple Watch, you still need to set something up. Under the Apple Watch heading, choose ‘Merge data > Enable all > Allow’, so that the app can also use the data from your smartwatch.

There is also a handy option for wheelchair users. Here you can indicate whether your Pedometer++ can use your Apple Watch to measure your wheelchair movements. These then replace the step counts. Have you set everything up? Then tap ‘Start’ at the bottom.

You will then immediately see a clear overview of all the steps you have taken. With a tap on ‘Insignis’ you will see all the medals you have achieved and can still get. At the top you will also find the monthly challenges to get special badges for that month.
