PC manufacturers are already trembling with fear

The new MacBook Air with the powerful M2 chip from Apple is now available. This is not good news for manufacturers of Windows PCs. The already weakened market could be further “negatively affected”, say analysts.

MacBook Air 2022: PC manufacturers worried

Apple has already presented its MacBook Air 2022, and it should arrive with the first customers in mid-July. What is certainly good news for fans of Apple’s best-selling notebook is far from well received by manufacturers of PCs and notebooks. the Producers are “concerned” about the fact that Apple’s bestseller could have a “negative” impact on the already ailing market. At least that’s what analysts from Asia think.

According to reports, PC manufacturers fear that the MacBook Air with powerful M2 processor could displace other high-end notebooks with Windows (Source: DigiTimes). In addition to the powerful chip, the webcam with a higher resolution and the revised case of the new MacBook Air could be reason enough for some customers to opt for the lightweight Apple notebook.

What is also certain is that the PC industry is still struggling without a new MacBook Air. Both manufacturers and customers are currently much more cautious when it comes to investments. This is partly due to the high inflation, which is depressing the consumer climate. Not only PC manufacturers but also Apple are struggling with these problems. Difficulties in availability are still to be expected, at least in this quarter, as Apple recently explained.
