Friends of humorous action cinema can look forward to a highlight this April, because then Amazon Prime will have the sequel to one of the most popular action comedies of recent years – Killer’s Bodyguard 2 is scheduled for release at the end of the month.

Amazon Prime Video shows “Killer’s Bodyguard 2”

Already in 2017 Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson for an entertaining two hours with the cinema hit “Killer’s Bodyguard” (originally: The Hitman’s Bodyguard). Not only was the action right, there was also plenty of humor due to the absurdly funny exchanges of blows of a verbal nature. Not surprising when Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds and Nick Fury mime Samuel L. Jackson meet. The sequel was released in the cinemas in summer 2021, but unfortunately went under and was postponed several times in this country.

But now there is Killer’s Bodyguard 2 on April 29th Watch Amazon Prime Video. No extra charge, of course, included directly in the streaming flat rate. By the way, the original title reveals a little more – The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. This time, Salma Hayek (last seen in Marvel’s Eternals) is a little more in focus as the killer’s wife. Amazon writes in the short summary:

“They are like cat and dog, hopscotch, Whitney and Britney: bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) and hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson)! The world’s strangest deadly couple is back as Kincaid’s unpredictable wife Sonia (Salma Hayek) embarks once again on a life-threatening mission.”

Another Prime Video tip for April:

Critics and audiences at odds

But part 2 is worth it, how well does the action comedy do with the audience? With 6.1 out of 10 possible points on the IMDb, “Killer’s Bodyguard 2” delivers a solid result, not outstanding, but not bad either. On the other hand, the professional critics from Rotten Tomatoes were not convinced and let the film fail with 26 percent. The viewers see it differently, who are quite satisfied with 79 percent. So Killer’s Bodyguard 2 is a typical example of a film that fails the critics but resonates with audiences. Ergo: Rather watch and form your own opinion.
