Ozzy Osbourne NFT Scam: Thousands of Victims Lose Money

And it just goes to show that you have to be very careful about what you’re doing. Ozzy Osbourne’s NFT collection was the victim of a scam.

Nowadays all kinds of famous brands and artists have their own NFT collections. You almost don’t belong if you don’t go along with this craziness. The elderly rock star Ozzy Osbourne also has his own NFT collection. This is the CryptoBatz collection. There is nothing wrong with these NFTs themselves, but malicious parties took advantage of the fame of the collection to scam.

The CryptoBatz collection consists of 9,666 digital bats. However, hackers got access to the project’s official Twitter account. There was a tweet posted with a link. Unsuspecting followers clicked on this URL and it turned out to be phishing. This only came out afterwards, when the victims had already been made. The scam has stolen thousands of dollars worth of crypto and ended up in the hands of the hackers.

It shows that you have to be very careful what you do. Because there is no bank or institution that you can rely on to get your money back in this case. Even official channels can be hacked and misused to steal your hard-earned money. (via The Verge)
