“Over the top birthday parties, I don’t do it anymore”
Elaborate, social media-worthy treats and birthday parties? These mothers can be stolen from now on.
Ingeborg (40), mother of Benthe (8) and Beau (6).
“Over the top birthday parties, I don’t do it anymore. Preparing the hippest decorations, home-baked cakes and photoshopped invitations takes up all my free time. Hysterical treats
Annelies (38), mother of David (13) and Nathan (6).
“What I will never, ever do again in my life? Making those hysterical treats for school. What nonsense I think that is. No, the children just get something from a bag from me, such as a KitKat or pieces of apple.
“If you like it, you should continue with it, but it is no longer for me”
It feels wonderfully liberating to have made that resolution. How much time and hassle this will save! It can be a lot of fun of course and if you enjoy making treats you should keep doing it, but it is no longer for me.”
